Groundworks & Drainage Installation In Nottingham & The East Midlands

Drainage Installed Properly, From Design To Reinstatement

Our groundworks team designs and installs drainage for homes, extensions and small developments: new foul and surface water runs, soakaways, French drains, land drainage, manholes, channel drains and connections — built to Building Regulations Part H and, for soakaways, sized using the BRE 365 percolation test.

Groundworks we carry out

From waterlogged gardens to new-build connections, we handle excavation, pipe laying, backfilling and reinstatement.

  • Soakaways (crate and rubble) with percolation tests
  • French drains and land drainage
  • New foul and surface water drain runs
  • Manholes and inspection chambers
  • Channel (linear) drains for driveways
  • Drainage for extensions and new builds

Solving waterlogged gardens and driveways

Standing water usually means heavy clay soil, compacted ground or nowhere for surface water to go. A correctly placed French drain or soakaway — or a channel drain across a driveway — takes water away and protects your property.

Frequently Asked Questions

A soakaway collects roof or surface water and lets it soak into the ground; a French drain intercepts water across an area and carries it away. Many waterlogged gardens need both. We'll recommend the right solution after a site visit.

Yes — to size a soakaway correctly the ground's infiltration rate should be tested (BRE Digest 365 method). Clay soils often need a larger soakaway or an alternative solution.
